We're Going to the Zoo Zoo Zoo...

This is my belated post on our zoo trip. We've been wanting to bring Caleb to the zoo coz it's been two years since he visited the spore zoo. So, we finally got our act together and invited Caleb's favourite playmate Kimi and family to come along with us. Actually we've been having lots of playdates with Kimi and we've accumulated tons of photos but... as usual... too busy to post... so anyway... Here's the photos of our zoo trip.

We arrived at about 10plus and were just in time for the Sealion show. I think the children enjoyed the show. There was a sealion photo taking session after the show and other than photo taking, you get to get a kiss from the sealion as well.

Kimi was really brave and allowed the sealion to kiss her on her cheek.

Kimi's didi, Ian and Auntie Lorraine also managed to get a photo taken with the sealion.

Check out Caleb's reaction. He was terrified of getting a kiss from the sealion and covered both his cheeks. Guess who was the lucky one who got kissed instead?

The zoo had this little double wagon where you can pull 2 kids around. It was really hot property and before we knew it, the wagons were all snapped out. Thank God Uncle Adrian had a friend working in the zoo and she managed to find one for us. If not, it would have been very tiring for us parents if we had to drag both Caleb and Kimi around the zoo. The wagon was pretty easy to maneuver and the kids had fun going round the zoo in it.

The mummies with the kids!

The zoo hasn't changed a lot since the last time we visited. The attractions were the usual lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, zebras etc. but still I think the children were quite intrigued by the animals. I think the attraction that left a lasting impression on Caleb was the elephants. There was an elephant show which we managed to catch in the afternoon. It was really hot, humid and packed and we couldn't get any seats at the show. So both kids ended up perched on both daddies' shoulders. The elephant show was quite entertaining but we were all really quite tired out (especially us parents coz it's no joke dragging 4 young kids, strollers, wagon, bags the whole day round the zoo!) by then to fully enjoy it. Sarah and Ian were both knocked out during the show and were taking their afternoon nap. Kimi was soooo tired that she actually fell asleep on Uncle Adrian's shoulders whilst watching the show. Only Caleb managed to keep his eyes open but we could tell that he couldn't last much longer... so after the show we decided to call it a day and go home!

Well, for Sarah, though she's a little too young to fully comprehend what we were all looking at, still, she was in an extremely cheery mood and was really smiley the whole day. As I said, this girl loves going out!

An after-post by the daddy
While we're at it, here's a story about the zoo... you see, there was a time when the zoo were short of animals, so to fill in the gap, they hired a part-time guy to act as the monkey. So, putting on the monkey suit, the guy went about making "hoo-hoo" sounds, and let the visitors feed him. By and by, he started having more and more fun, and started doing the swings on the trees. Having so much fun, he actually swung so hard he fell into the Lion's den! As the lion strolled towards him, he got so scared, he started shouting, "help! help!". Immediately, the lion pounced on him and roared, "Shut up! Or we'll both lose our jobs!"
