Our Weekend - Part 2

On Sunday, we went to church in the morning as usual. We had brunch at our favourite T3 kopitiam and then home for an early afternoon nap. When we woke up from our nap, our activity for the day was to go to Botanic Gardens for a walk. It's been a while since we last went there.

Botanic Gardens in the evening. Though it was slightly humid, the evening sun was not scorching and the rays from the setting sun gave the garden a very nice, soothing feel to it.

Just outside the Swan Lake, there was this interesting sculpture that was named Swing Me Mama.
The kids were quite fascinated by it.

Checking out the fishes and turtles at the Swan Lake

Caleb trying to take a photo with the 2 swans in the Lake

A loving shot of the korkor and cheche

Sophia, trying to stuff my sling into her mouth to sooth her itchy gums

Finally she decided that her fingers would do the trick

Sarah trying out Caleb's scooter which he received as his birthday present. She doesn't quite have the motor skills to fully enjoy it yet. Caleb, on the other hand, took to it very quickly and was zipping around the park like a pro.

We stopped at the big grass patch in the middle of the gardens to let the kids run around a bit.
Caleb, expanding his energies.

Sarah wasn't too keen to run on the grass and was content just watching her korkor

Caleb, pretending to be an aeroplane

Sarah, giving ND a series of very fake posed smiles.
This behaviour is really quite unlike her. She usually doesn't even want to pose for the camera.

Me and the sparkles of my life.

We walked by this little mini maze and Caleb wanted to go explore it on his own. Me and ND thought that he was rather inquisitive and adventurous today coz he was asking us to check out the names of the different trees and he dared to go explore on his own. Usually, he'll insist that one of us go along with him. Our boy is growing up!

Artistic shot by ND. This is a family photo of our shadows! If you look carefully, the first shadow belongs to ND and Sarah. ND was carrying Sarah as he took the photo. The one in the middle belongs to Caleb and his scooter and the one on the right belongs to me with Sophia in my sling.

It was a rather nice way to spend our evening. There were pockets of people sitting around on the green having picnic, playing frisbee, kicking ball, playing badminton. And me and ND started dreaming about the day when we can just bring the kids, let them loose on the grass to play on their own without any supervision from us and we can both just laze on our picnic mat to read our book, relax and eat. ND thinks that'll be possible in another 5 years time... Well, so that's our target 5 years down the road!
