Racing Cars!

So after a couple of days of being stuck at home with restless kids, I had to get creative and try to find ways to expand their energies to avoid:
1) them killing each other
2) me killing them

On Tuesday, this is what we did. To maintain the peace and harmony at home, I decided to drag out Caleb's box of vehicles and during breakfast, I sold the idea to him that he and Sarah were going to have a race. Just like the Grand Prix. His job was to select 10 different vehicles for himself from this toy box and to help Sarah select 10 similar kinds of vehicles. Haha, he took the bait and got quite excited. Once kor kor's excited, Sarah would get all excited and agreeable too. So we spent a fair bit of the morning choosing and "analyzing" the cars that he had. I encouraged him to test out the cars to make sure he chose the fast ones and told him that he had to be fair and to choose cars of equal power for Sarah. We ended up with a variety of vehicles. Some sports cars, some sedan cars, we even had a truck and cement mixer race! Haha! Considering how bored and cooped up we were already, I thought I should give myself a pat on my back for coming up with this idea. Hey we spent the whole morning racing ok! And for once, time passed a little faster and by the end of our race, it was almost lunch time!

The kids like the idea so much, we had another race in the evening. And when we woke up the last two morning, Sarah actually said to me,"Mummy, let's play racing cars!"
