That's what we had last night, a very long, long night. Sarah just came down with a slight flu and was having a bad drippy nose. At 10 plus, I told ND that I was going to go to bed soon coz I foresee that she's not going to sleep well and that means I'll probably have to wake up a few times in the night. (I am very wise!)
True to my predictions, Sarah started crying in her sleep at about 11.30pm and called for me. I got out of bed and went over to her and a couple of minutes after that, Sophia got woken up from Sarah's cries and started wailing for her human pacifier (ME!), so I had to wake ND up and get him to pacify Sarah while I nursed Sophia. We took about 10min to settle both girls and then we both went back to bed.
12 plus... Sarah wakes up again crying. I think the runny nose was making her quite uncomfortable and the same cycle continues. I go over to her... Sophia wakes up... I go back to Sophia... ND takes over Sarah... It's 12.45pm before I got to get back to lie on my bed.
1 plus... Sarah comes again... This time she needed to pee. So she comes crying to my bed and I got up to bring her to the toilet and then she wants some water so I had to pour her some warm water, and settle her into bed again. It's about 1.30am before I crawl back into bed again...
2 plus... This time it's Sophia. She wakes up and cries and wants to nurse. I quickly go to her as fast as I can so that I don't wake up the rest of the kids...And as I lay there nursing her, nursing her, nursing her... and then I heard this water sound in the bedroom. I pushed myself up a little more and peered across to room and I couldn't believe my eyes. This got to be the Ultimate!...
I saw Caleb standing on his mattress and just peeing right onto it! I think he thinks that he's in the toilet and he was just peeing away. I was stuck to Sophia so I activated ND again and he scrambled up from his bed and rushed over to Caleb's side. He had to quickly guide him to make sure that he doesn't step on his pee and make a bigger mess, then he had to change him. I was done with Sophia by then and went over to help. Thank God for bed protectors! I had to pull out Caleb's bedsheets for him, pull together some towels to lay over the mattress and get him to sleep. As me and ND went back to bed, I was muttering "what a long, long night" and we checked the time, it was 3.01am. And ND said,"Wah, so many things can happen in 5 hrs ah!"
We were both really exhausted by the 3 kids. God must have seen how tired out we were coz after this, the kids were merciful towards us and they let us sleep another 3-4hrs before waking up for the day.
What a long, long night. Hopefully, tonight will be better!
