Snippets about Caleb and Sarah

Caleb has been going through this phase of putting things into his mouth. (just like Sarah right? Yup, he's really going all out to imitate his sister...) After repeated nagging to get him to stop putting things into his mouth, I told him that he'll go to the naughty corner each time I catch him putting inedible things in his mouth. So, I caught him biting his toy and stared at him. He knew where he had to go and didn't put up any fight but went obediently to his corner to stand. Daddy happened to walk pass him and couldn't help but laugh when he heard overheard Caleb mumbling to himself...

Caleb: (standing at a corner facing the wall and whimpering softly) Mummy... Mummy... (then in a self comforting tone...) It's ok, 3min is a very short time right?....

I didn't know my son had the ability to comfort himself in this manner.
Anyway, we are still not through with this phase... this is something that we are still working on.

As for Sarah, I put her down for her nap this morning and after 5min, she started wailing with her eyes shut whilst still lying on the bed. I quickly went over to pat her back to sleep. The min I went to her side, she quietened down and went back to sleep. At that moment, I felt like her "mobile chou chou". She can only sleep for long if she thinks that I'm lying down beside her. If not, she'll sleep for a very short while and wake up. So every time she wails, I have to quickly go to her, let her hold on to me for a while and she'll fall back to sleep.
It gets more "serious" at night. I MUST be there for her. She wouldn't let anybody else comfort her. Last night she woke up in the middle of her sleep and Daddy went over to pat her but she continued to wail and started looking round the room for me. I quickly went over to her and she clung onto me, gave me the "Where have you been?!" look before falling back to sleep. I think I must smell very nice to her or something. She seems to have some hidden antenna to detect whether Mummy is with her or not. She can tell it's not Mummy without opening her eyes. I tried to stuff my bolster behind her back in the hope that she'll think it's me lying next to her, but it didn't work as well. So I can only conclude that she identifies me through my "natural fragrance". Perhaps in her mind, I'm her "fantastic smelling chou chou".
