The first year that Caleb went for this dinner, he was sleeping most of the time. The second year that he went, it was held at Neptune. He wasn't very interested in the performances but we managed to catch a very good view of the fireworks show across Marina Bay. This year, though there's no fireworks to see, he's old enough to appreciate the cultural performances and sing along with the songs during the dinner.
Of the many years of dinners that we've attended, we all think that this year's programme was much better than previous years. The emcee did an excellent job in entertaining everybody and the cultural performances were pretty good effort. Ha, though this year's programme was quite enjoyable, I didn't manage to take any photos of them coz I was busy enjoying the food and the programme myself.
Well, I did take some photos of us at the table though...
Here's Caleb with Grandma making monkey faces at the table...

Daddy and his little girl...
This is Sarah's first year attending the National Day dinner with us.
Sarah's too young to appreciate the food and the performances so she entertained herself with the things she could lay her hands on. She's "tasting" Caleb's book in this shot.
During this dinner, Sarah discovered her perfect teether. The silver spoon. She absolutely loved it coz she could suck it from both ends and she could use it to scratch her itchy gums. Well, the spoon kept her really entertained for more than half an hour and gave us time to just enjoy our food. Daddy took a video of her sucking away as though it was really tasty. He tried to capture the surroundings as well but somehow it was too noisy and the footage is not very sharp.
Oh, the highlight of the dinner probably would be Caleb's 3min of fame. The emcee came over to him during the dinner, gave him the mic and asked him for his name. He was really brave and told him his name's Caleb over the mic. The emcee then asked him to tell everybody whether he thinks he (the emcee) is cute. Caleb (who always gives politically correct answer) gave a resounding YES! into the mic. We were all so proud of Caleb coz there were almost a thousand people in the ballroom and he didn't cry or shy away when he was put into the limelight. He just looked a little shy but still bold enough to smile and answer the emcee.
Well done Caleb!
