We've often heard of that phrase and I've come to realise how true that is with Caleb. Nowadays he's leaving us amused and sometimes dumbfounded by the things he says.
I was driving and realised that I was in the wrong lane. I signaled to change lane and this taxi behind me refused to give way and gave me a loud horn. When the road was clear again and I changed lane, Caleb said "Careful, Mummy". Left me stunned for a moment before I said,"OK, I'll drive carefully."
A few days ago, we reached home around Caleb's bedtime and I decided to prepare him for bedtime.
Mummy: Caleb, it's bedtime. So after we bathe, we'll change into our pyjamas, drink milk, and...
Caleb: Play toys! (he slipped that in really smoothly)
Caleb was playing with the cushions on our sofa. He discovered the zip to the cushion cover and started to unzip the cushion. I wanted to discourage him from unzipping the covers so I said,
Mummy: Caleb, pls zip up the cushion. They need to wear clothes just like us right?
Caleb: (pause for a while) Cushion no need to wear clothes.
Mummy: !!?? Erh, yah, cushion don't wear clothes.
We caught a whiff of foul smell coming from Caleb.
Mummy: Caleb, did you poo poo?
Caleb: No, I only fart!
Usually when Caleb wakes up from his nap, he'll either rush out of the bedroom to search for me or he'll give his "fake" cry from his cot to get me to go to him. A few days ago, he must have had a very good nap coz he ran out of the bedroom, rushed to give me a hug and declared cheerfully, "I finished sleeping!"
