We've had nightly family quiet time for more than half a year now, and there has been quite a few milestones since then, though we have not blogged about them.
The first milestone was when Caleb first prayed for us, his parents, shortly after we started having the family QT. I remember it being a surreal experience, having your son pray for you. When Caleb first started praying, we had to guide him quite a fair bit in the words to use. Now he can take note of our prayer requests and pray on his own.
The second milestone was marked by Caleb's first memory verse. Gen started getting Caleb to memorise verses after she got the idea from another blogger, and we both felt it was a good idea to do so. We should always hide God's words in our hearts. Caleb has now memorised four verses and just started on his fifth tonight.
The third milestone was when Sarah suddenly said she wanted to pray for Charisse Jie Jie (a girl from our care group). When Gen started praying for Clarisse, Sarah actually followed along and now she volunteers to pray too, and verbalises after us.
The fourth milestone happened just tonight. Sarah said she wanted to pray for daddy (made me really happy, to be frank :)). Caleb chipped in and said he'll lead Sarah to pray. And so, even before I could say a single word, Caleb started praying for me, and Sarah followed him, praying for me.
I am really thankful and grateful for the work that the Lord is doing in our children in spite of our inadequacy.
