Singing Caleb

These few weeks, Caleb is into singing. He has been coming home and singing songs that he learnt in school and sometimes it's songs that I sing with him at home. When he sits in the car and listen to his songs, sometimes he'll comment and say,"I know how to sing this song you know, Mummy," and sometimes, he'll just try to follow along and echo the last word of each line.
I think he's really getting better at picking up new songs and remembering the lyrics. Most of the time he can remember maybe 85% of the songs that are more familiar to him. Sometimes, he'll sing half the song and forget the other half of the lyrics. The good and amazing thing that I've discovered is that the songs that I used to sing as a kid in kindergarten are still being taught today.. and thank God I can still remember those songs that I learnt. So when he starts singing and can't remember the lyrics, I'll help him out by filling in the gaps for him and singing along with him. I think he really enjoys it when I sing with him.

Here' s Caleb singing one of his favourite songs - "The Wheels On the Bus". We were reading his Barney storybook together and there was a story on Barney being the bus driver and that inspired Caleb to start singing. The surprising thing for me was that he followed on with two other variations which he learnt in school. Oh, and his singing is still a little out of tune for now, but I think he's getting there.
