Speech Development

Caleb has been developing pretty well in his speech development. Over the last 3-4 months, he has increased his vocabulary by quite a bit. Most of the words that he can say are action verbs like jump, eat, take, wash, sit etc. He's also able to say and identify items like watch, truck, and some animals.
He has quite a good listening ear and understanding of what we say. So that helps him to pick up fairly quickly words that we say frequently to him. He may not be able to pronounce some of the words very accurately but after he repeatedly says the words, his pronounciation would inprove.
On a weekly average, he picks up about 2 to 3 new words which he uses correctly. The 2 new words for this week are "reach" and "big". He would stretch out his arms towards the ceiling and say "reach" and top it up with a jump. He picked up the word "big" coz he was watching the movie "Nemo" with jie jie Nicole and there was a very big fish chasing after Dory the fish. We were asking Nicole to look at the big fish and Caleb started saying "big... big" and stretched out his arms to signify big.

And here's a video of Caleb saying Allo. He can't pronounce the "H" sound so instead of Hello, he says "Ah-Lo". When he sees a phone, mic or even when he reaches yee yee's house, sometimes, he'll start to say "Ah-Lo, Ah-Lo" in a loud, rough voice. We think he sounds like a coffeeshop Ah Beng and we're trying to help him to refine his Hello so that he will not scare away girls in future.
