Standby Standby... Turn Out! Turn Out!

Many years ago when I was still serving the nation in green and brown, as a cadet and suffering under the tyranny of my instructors, we used to be on standby ALL THE TIME, even when we sleep!
We would make sure that the full pack is ready to go, SBO (Skeleton Battle Order) placed nicely so that it could be put on in a swift motion. Boots would be placed beside the bed with the mouths of the boots wide open. Anything needed to be put on that can be worn comfortably to sleep would be put on and these included the long pants, the socks, the watch, the singlet, sometimes even the long four (the long sleeve shirt) itself and gutters (worn around the socks to slip the long pants under)! All ready for the unsuspected "Turn Out! Turn Out! Turn Out!" In less than 5mins, we would be all ready, fully ready for battle, and most of the time, be in push up position by then.
Reminiscience of that was brought back last night when wife said she could feel some slight cramps and Caleb feels really really low. We really thought he was coming last night! Everything was put on standby. Chairs and cushions were brought in from the living room (useful when adopting comfortable positions during contractions). Stopwatch was worn to sleep (to time the contractions). Comb, hairband, facial wash, handphones, wallets were all packed into a hand carry (for quick exit to the hospital). All ready for the unsuspected "Turn Out! Turn Out! Turn Out!", this time by little Caleb :) I'm sure in less than 5mins, we would have been all ready, fully ready for battle, and in the contraction-relieving position.
Boy Boy ah Boy Boy... when will you turn us out?!?!?!
