Diary of a New Daddy: Sarah 1st Birthday Party!

We celebrated Sarah's 1st birthday party on 29th Dec (just one day before her actual birthday). You remember that we said before that we had a sickly Christmas season right? Well, through God's grace, we were able to celebrate Sarah's birthday without much discomfort (God also put on hold my fever, cos my fever stopped on 28th, and restarted on 30th!).

It was a small party with just immediate family and care group friends. We had it at our house, and the guests had been to our house many many times before, so it was comfy and cosy for everyone.

Sarah herself was fairly cheerful that day, with just a little of her signature frowns once in a while when she gets slightly flustered by all the attention.

By now you may have seen that there are lots of pink in the pictures, that's because the theme of the party is Piglet and Pink! Sarah absolutely loves piglet and all things pink. When she first laid her eyes on piglet in the shopping centre, she kept pointing to it and hugged it tight when Gen took it up for her. This is the piglet that started it all.

Her grandpa got wind of it and bought her an even bigger one for her birthday!

Kor kor (in his current picture-friendly mood) got in the act too.

And that's why the theme is Piglet and all things Pink.

And so, the birthday cake must also be Piglet and Friends right? You gotta check out this birthday cake... it's absolutely creative and beautiful. It's made by Sarah's Yee Yee who really has a talent for making cakes and brownies (she has her own "Brownie Addict" website, we're waiting for the pictures of the cakes that she has made to go up... remember Caleb's cake?)

Don't you think Piglet and friends look super happy to be there? All celebrating the birthday together. (Check out the trees, tree stumps, river and fence!)

To round up the day, we actually celebrated Sarah's birthday a 2nd time, on the same day, that night! Best of all, Yee Yee actually made another cake again! A round one this time, no less fantastic...
