You officially became the fourth member of the Lee Family on Sunday, 30 December 2007 @ 10.22am. Your arrival is one that we have been looking forward to day and night, especially me. I couldn't wait to see how you look and to hold you in my arms.
The initial months when you were in my womb weren't the easiest months to get by. Maybe coz I "played" too much when we were on holiday in the US, you gave me a scare when I started bleeding slightly just before we were due to fly back. But I thank God that He watched over you and even though the bleeding didn't stop for the next 3 months, I got over my anxiety when your Godma Mei shared with me this book called "Praying For Your Unborn Child". God taught me to trust Him to watch over you and to have the faith to enjoy my pregnancy as I should.
During my first trimester, I had many dreams of you. I can't remember exactly what they are but one thing was clear, in all of my dreams, the baby that I was carrying was a girl. So from the very beginning, I sensed that you were going to be a girl. (Strangely enough, when I was carrying your Kor Kor Caleb, I had sensed before my detailed scan that I was going to have a boy. Perhaps this is what they call the woman's instincts.)
Anyway, as the pregnancy progressed, you got significantly more and more active. You are definitely much more active than your Kor Kor. At times you were relentless in kicking me again and again and this usually happens close to midnight. Me and Daddy concluded that you must be a nightbird coz you tend to be slightly quieter in the mornings and afternoons.
When I gave the final push during delivery, you let out a series of really loud, strong cries. Both me and Daddy agreed that you are really loud. Your cries are as loud as your Kor Kor's when he's upset. However, surprisingly, you have otherwise been pretty quiet, choosing to sleep most of the time. You don't seem to be a very fussy baby and seem to be quite patient. When you dirty yourself and need a change of diaper, you don't really fuss or cry. When you want milk, you give out small whimpers and when I carry you and talk to you whilst preparing to feed you, generally you maintain your volume and sometimes you actually quieten down. You only start to escalate to your loud volume when the wait gets a little too long.
As we look at you day by day, me and Daddy think that you're really very cute and we foresee that we will have a lot of fun with you, just like we did with your Kor Kor.
Your Kor Kor hasn't really been able to come in close contact with you coz he's got a slight running nose. But he has been very nice, sweet and gentle with you. Everyday, he'll come by once or twice to pat you very gently. Sometimes, he'll come and offer you toys and ask you whether you want to play with them. The first time that he saw me feeding you, he came by and said he wanted to help feed you too. Hopefully Kor Kor will recover quickly and can spend a little more time interacting with you.
Here you are taking your nap while I blog
