Sarah At 6 months

Last week was an exciting week for Sarah. She turned 6 months on Monday and throughout the week, we saw a couple of changes in her.
Well, for a start, I introduced her to semi solids. She got her first taste of rice cereal mixed with breast milk for her mid morning snack. She being very patient by nature, waited quietly for me to spoon each mouth of cereal into her mouth. Then she'll put on her trademark frown as she slowly savoured the cereal, as though she was trying to decide whether she really liked the taste of the cereal.
We also discovered that she can now sit on her own without any support. We still got to watch her though, coz sometimes she just throws herself backwards and I worry that she'll hit her head. When we went out for lunch last week, it was great for us coz we didn't have to confine her to her stroller or carry her while we eat. Instead, she got to sit in the high chair just like her kor kor.
And we think that she's on her way to start crawling. She's been making attempts to lift up her butt and try to propel herself forward so that she can reach out for things. She hasn't quite figured out how to move herself forward yet and will usually end up moving backwards instead. But we think she'll figure that out probably in a week or two... so that means it's no longer safe for us to leave her alone on our beds. I'm starting to build up barricades around our bed whenever she's sleeping there. Either that or I probably have to let her sleep on a mattress on the floor whenever she takes her naps. I really don't want to risk letting her fall off the bed. (That actually happened to Caleb and he ended up with a nasty cut and bloody mouth)
I managed to take a video of Sarah today, attempting to crawl. She's very fascinated with my handphone and goes for it whenever she sees it. And once she's set her eyes on her target, she's really persistent and will try really hard to capture it!

As you can see, she only has one objective... to stuff her prize in her mouth.
