A Lazy Afternoon Activity

As with the growing trend in Spore, we're also into kite flying. It's what we like to do when we don't really have any programmes planned and we just want to let the kids work out their energies.

So on one lazy Sunday afternoon, we grabbed our kite, ball, Caleb's toy helicopter, tabao dinner and drove to the open field in Seng Kang. We found a nice patch of grass to lay our picnic mats, people watched and had an early dinner, and then we whipped out our kite and ball and had some fun.

Arriving at the Seng Kang open field. There was a nice breeze and lots of kites littered the sky.

First things first, fill up our tum tums.

Sophia's not old enough to eat solids yet so she settled with sucking at my sling in her bassinet
After filling up our tummies, it was time to fly our kite. We bought this penguin kite during our last visit here and we're quite pleased with it. It's really quite easy to fly it and not too daunting for us or the kids.

Unfortunately there was a sudden change in wind direction and our kite dipped and got entangled in a tree

We managed to get it down but we were soon hit by another kite that flew too close to us.
Sarah's shoe got entangled with the strings and ND had to help her get out of the mess.
After our little misadventure, the kids decided to play ball instead.
Taking a break from their ballgame.
And then, they started a round of competitive soccer. It was Caleb vs ND and Sarah.

By the end of their game, it was getting dark and very windy. We had to bundle Sophia up for fear of her getting colicky. Doesn't she look like a cute and fat "oba-san"?
