New Words For The Week

The new words that Caleb started saying this week are "bottle", "horse" and "carpet".
For the last two weeks, he has been pointing to his milk bottle or any bottle at home and saying "bot" and we'll reinforce by saying "bottle". Over the last few days, he just burst out and said "Bot...tle" when he saw his milk bottle. He seems to know that it's a new word that he has managed to say and has been practising saying "bottle". And I must say he's getting better at it.
Over the weekend, we brought Caleb to Gallop Stables and he saw a real horse(actually it's a pony). Previously when we showed him pictures of horses, he either had no response or if we asked him where the horse was, he may point to the right animal. After the visit to Gallop Stables, it seemed to have left an impression on him coz now, he can look at a picture of a horse and say "horse". So I guess, nothing beats seeing the real thing.
And last night, we went grocery shopping and we bought a non slip mat to put outside the bathroom. And all of a sudden, Caleb just pointed to the mat and said really loudly "Carpet!" Both Mummy and Daddy were stunned coz it's not a word that we had reinforced to Caleb before so we were both wondering where did that come from??!!
